Recently, the international standard "IEC 63207:2022 Measurement methods of blue light characteristics and related optical performance for visual display terminals" ("Measurement Methods for Blue Light Characteristics and Related Optical Performance of Visual Display Terminals"), led by BOE and participated in the development by BOE EWIN Technology Co., Ltd., was officially released by the International Electrotechnical Commission/Technical Committee 100 (IEC/TC 100), the authoritative standard organization for visual display terminals.
With the advancement of digitalization in society, we have entered the era of screen reading, where the prolonged use of electronic screens has become one of the significant factors affecting eyesight. As the concept of eye care and eye protection becomes widespread, consumers are increasingly focusing on the eye protection features of display products when shopping. However, there has been a lack of authoritative testing standards for the question, "What is a truly eye-protective low-blue-light screen?"
This standard defines narrow-band blue light, blue light irradiance of visual display terminals, unit brightness blue light irradiance, and related testing methods. The release of the standard fills the gap in the global low-blue-light healthy display technology related to international standards, achieving a historic breakthrough in the field of international standardization work. It provides standard support for the standardized development and technical upgrading of global low-blue-light healthy displays.
As the definer of paper-like eye protection standards, a series of paper-like eye protection display products under BOE EWIN, such as BOE iGallery, Xiao Ke Ping, Shi Guang Ji, and Campus Art Screen, use innovative LED backlight peak red-shift technology. This technology accurately filters out the most harmful blue light in the 415nm-455nm band from the hardware end, achieving an effect that neither damages image quality nor harms the eyes. This technology has not only passed the evaluation system established according to the "Measurement Methods for Blue Light Characteristics and Related Optical Performance of Visual Display Terminals" international standard but has also obtained the TÜV Rheinland certification, making it a true low-blue-light eye-protective display screen.
In addition to low-blue-light technology, the paper-like eye protection screen series products also feature lossless Gamma display patent technology (patent number: ZL 2016 1 0214546.6) and anti-glare, flicker-free, intelligent light-sensing, and image intelligent matching technologies. These reduce eye damage from the screen while ensuring the comfort of screen viewing.
In the future, BOE EWIN will continue to adhere to the corporate mission of "Making Cultural and Healthy Displays Ubiquitous" and will continue to delve into the field of healthy displays, leading new trends in the innovation and development of the healthy display industry.
